Budapest vote on June 23 his candidacy for the Games-2024
Budapest City Council will vote on June 23 on the nomination of the Hungarian capital to the organization of the Olympic Summer Games 2024, also in the sights of Paris, said Monday the Hungarian city.
Proposed by the Hungarian Olympic Committee in February, the idea finally convinced the mayor of Budapest, Istvan Tarlós, and will be put to a vote in the Council on 23 June, he said.
On May 7, a Hungarian delegation was received at the IOC headquarters in Lausanne for a "discussion phase" prior to a possible candidacy.
The candidate cities have until September 15 to submit their dossier.
Boston (USA), Hamburg (Germany) and Roma are official candidates and the Board of Paris gave the green light to the French capital to do the same.
The IOC will make its decision in Lima in 2017.
