Vote for Sziget and Balaton Sound!
Sziget is once again competing for the Best European Major Festival title. And this time the Budapest-based giant is not the only Sziget-related event in the hunt. Make sure you also vote for Heineken Balaton Sound in the category of medium sized festivals at http://eu.festivalawards.com/vote.
Now is the right time to show your devotion and loyalty towards your favorite events, competing at the annual European Festival Awards. After last year’s victory, Sziget hopes to do well again in the category of the continent’s biggest festivals, while Balaton Sound is Sziget Cultural Management’s new and hopefully successful medium-sized entry to this great competition.
„Last year’s victory came just at the right moment in Sziget’s life, as our country was facing economic troubles and a general PR problem internationally, creating a huge challenge for our team” – said Sziget founder and managing director Karoly Gerendai. „The award basically helped us turning our luck around and thanks to this ‘international confidence’, we quickly experienced positive changes. Our mission is to keep our fans happy, but it was also great to realize the professional interest raised by our victory. We welcomed visitors from approx. 30 other international festivals, all interested to see the secret of our success and all being charmed by a structurally and visually renewed event. If Sziget could repeat last year’s magic, maybe even helping Balaton Sound to win the medium category, that would clearly be the ultimate breakthrough for our organizing team” – he added.
Voting is open until 7 November at http://eu.festivalawards.com/vote. The top 10 in each category will be published on 12 November and then the winners will be awarded in January.
