The Sziget Festival Budapest remembers Woodstock and the Wall
Budapest, August 11, 2014 (EFE) .- Budapest hosts from today until Sunday the Sziget Festival, which this year put in cartel groups like Placebo, Madness, The Prodigy or Queens of the Stone Age, in an edition that celebrates the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall and 45, the legendary Woodstock Festival.
Organizers expect some 400,000 people, mostly foreigners, come to more than 500 concerts held in different scenarios Óbudai island on the Danube river.
Lilly Allen, Manic Street Preachers, Korn, Outkast and Blink 182 are other bands that pass through the also known as "Republic of the Festival".
This year's Sziget celebrates the anniversaries of three events: 25 Fall of the Berlin Wall, 40 of the invention of the Rubik Cube and 45 Woodstock Festival with special programs.
The recall Woodstock festival with a huge bonfire and a recital in which several groups perform hits from the 1960s.
The festival also involved Ska-P, Depedro, Noemi Iglesias, Spanish Alis and Seward.
Considered by many as "the largest music festival in Europe", visitors can also attend concerts of world music, jazz, opera and plays.
