Gwangju and Budapest organized swimming World 2019 and 2021
The South Korean city of Gwangju will host the 2019 FINA World, while Budapest will host the event in 2021, announced the sport's international federation (FINA) in Barcelona, which starts this Friday edition of 2013.
Thus, the South Korean city and happen to Barcelona Hungarian capital in 2013, in the Russian city of Kazan, 2015 World Cup host, and Mexico, designated to host the seventeenth edition in 2017.
"The presentation of both cities has been extraordinary," said Uruguayan Julio Cesar Maglione, president of FINA.
"We are happy because the FINA has good organizers in 2015 in Kazan, in 2017 in Mexico, in 2019 and 2021 in Gwangju in Budapest. Four great cities and the organization is doing very well," said the Uruguayan leader.
The announcement was attended Gwangju Mayor Kang Un-tae, and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
Gwangju is the third Asian city organizes a World Cup swimming, after Fukuoka in 2001 and Shanghai in 2011, while Hungary received the event for the first time.
