Mark Knopfler
The July 4 Mark Knopfler will give a concert in Budapest.
Born in Glasgow, Scotland, is a guitarist, singer, songwriter and former journalist and teacher.
Primarily known as a guitarist and singer of Dire Straits. He has also played in other bands (Notting Hillbillies, Brewer's Droop), for other artists (Bob Dylan Slow Train Coming) and has made solo projects. He has also composed music for several films including Local Hero, Comfort and Joy, Cal, The Princess Bride, Last Exit To Brooklyn, Wag the Dog (Wag the dog), Metroland and A shot at glory and for other singers such as Tina Turner, Private Dancer.
Currently has a solo career, with a style somewhat different from that created with Dire Straits, based on a style, a mixture of different sources as blues, rock and folk, for example. Rolling Stone magazine placed it in the 27th place in the List of 100 greatest guitarists of all time.
