Budapest Card
Tourists can find citycards in many European countries, such as Vienna, Berlin, Copenhagen, Oslo, Salzburg, Stockholm. These entries serve as a seasonal offering tourists the opportunity for unlimited travel on public transport and many discounts for sightseeing, shopping or restaurants.
"The whole city in your pocket" is the motto of the Budapest Card, introduced by the Tourism Office of Budapest in 1997. The card offers its holder more than a hundred services:
* Unlimited travel on public transport
* Free or discounted entry to 60 museums and attractions (Zoo, Matthias Church, the caves of Buda)
* Tour for half price
* Reduced price tickets for cultural and folklore program
* Discounts at restaurants and spas
* Discount car rental, sports facilities and many other places
* Travel Accident Insurance
Main information on the Budapest Card 2008
* Appearance: January 1
* Valid: 48 or 72 hours
* Price: 6 500 HUF per 48 hours, 8 000 HUF per 72 hours
* Each Budapest Card is valid for one adult and one child up to 14 years of age.
* Format: plastic card the size of a credit card, graphics: Chain Bridge and Buda Castle, below the graphs is the place designated for the signature of the tourist (the card is personalized), magnetic stripe and validity information (valid as of the date and time) on the back.
